Famous comedian Basketmouth has expressed why he believes Nigeria may never improve.

During an interview with AFRIMMA, he voiced his frustrations over the country’s economic challenges and leadership issues, highlighting the rising inflation and depreciation of the naira since 1970.

“In 1970, it was one naira to a dollar, but now it’s N1600 to a dollar.

“There has never been a time since 1970 that the dollar has decreased to its former value. The only thing you hear is ‘E go better,’ but it keeps getting worse.

“What are the policies? What have they done? Now, a 100-page passport costs N100,000. I suspect the government planned for Nigerians to suffer, so when they try to leave, they hike passport prices to make more money.”

He sarcastically added, “It’s not that I’ve lost hope, I’m hopeful that maybe one day, the country will get better. But let’s all believe in that pipe dream. It’s over.”
