‘They contacted me first’ – Wizkid reveals why Puma chose Davido over him

Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Wizkid, has revealed why popular fashion brand Puma chose Davido over him.

Wizkid made this disclosure on Wednesday during a social media outburst against Davido.

Amid the ongoing online supremacy battle between the two superstars, an X user, @NelsonEpega, accused Wizkid of being frustrated and jealous of Davido’s new deal with Puma.

Responding to @NelsonEpega’s post, Wizkid, in a viral message on X, claimed that Puma opted for Davido because they couldn’t afford his fee.

Wizkid wrote: “U idiot! I turned down Puma because they could no longer afford to pay me because I wanted more! Don’t need dat! Way bigger than every artiste you just mentioned! Not jealous! love them all. With ur dirty ass shirt! Idiot!”

He added: “No! Puma is a big brand! But the budget they had for Africa wasn’t for me! Was cool for your client tho!”
