Zozibini Tunzi has been crowned Miss South Africa 2019 and will receive R1 million as well as a car.
In addition to the R3 million prize package, she will also represent South Africa at the Miss World or Miss Universe pageants.
Speaking to Move! moments after winning the crown, Zozibini said the first thing she wants to do with her prize money is pay off her school fees.
“I don’t know what I want to do with the money yet but what I do know is that I want to pay off my school fees in full first.” she said.
The 25-year-old is currently doing her BTech in Public relations at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT).
According to the CPUT website, the school fees amount to R20 920, so she’ll have roughly R970 080 to spend on whatever else she wants.
Zozi also won a brand new car but she admitted that she does not have a driver’s license yet.
“Unfortunately I do not have a driver’s license yet but I am really excited about my new car.” she said.
When asked if she would be keeping her hair short during her reign as Miss SA, she said: “I came here like this. I’ve worn my hair this way for two years now and plan to keep it that way.”
