‘God corrected him’ – Mike Bamiloye backs Pastor Adeboye’s apology on tithe

Mike Bamiloye, the founder of Mount Zion Faith Ministries, has expressed his support for Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) following Adeboye’s public apology regarding his past statements on tithing.

Adeboye had admitted to making an error in his previous message, where he suggested that those who do not pay tithe would not make it to heaven. He clarified that the Bible emphasizes peaceful and holy living as the true prerequisites for entering heaven.

In a statement, Bamiloye highlighted the significance of Adeboye’s apology, stating, “Daddy E.A. Adeboye made a statement, and the Lord corrected him before he came out in the open to correct himself at the Lord’s instruction.”

Bamiloye further emphasized the humility required for a figure of Adeboye’s global standing to make such a public correction, saying, “It is only a person who has heaven in focus and eternity in view that would count it important to do that.”

He added that Adeboye’s willingness to apologize shows that he is more concerned with pleasing God than seeking human recognition. “Baba has heaven in his focus, and that is why he doesn’t care about earthly honour or human ego,” Bamiloye remarked.

Quoting James 4:6, he concluded, “It takes humility for a man of global status as this to come out and apologise. Only God could have spoken to such a man. Because God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
